Easter Sunday

Last year, I honestly can't remember a big Easter Bunny event last year, but Emilia definitely was excited about her treats this year. Our Bunny tries to keep things simple and low key, but still get the "wow" effect.

After church, we were planning on spending the day with Philip's family; however, sickness on both sides prevented us from the family time. Linda was nice enough to bring over her wonderfully cooked meal, though. All of our bellies were very full! We had an afternoon of leisure and naps. Overall, we had a great holiday!

Easter Weekend - Pre-Easter

Our Easter weekend was a fun-filled one with a zoo trip, egg dying, an Easter egg hunt, and more egg dying! This was the first year we dyed Easter eggs with Emilia. In fact, this is the first time I have dyed eggs since I lived at home as a kid. There were a few things I forgot (newspaper), but I did remember the vinegar and to boil the eggs. We invited Emilia's friend Clay over to celebrate the Easter season with us. We had a great time!

Our church has an annual Easter egg hunt. Because we were out of town last year, this was the first year we were able to participate. Emilia had loads of fun running around, enjoying a picnic, and collecting eggs with her friends.

Trips, Harding, Family, Easter Eggs, Spring Sing, and More Family - Part II

After our trip West to the great land of Searcy, Arkansas, we were anxious to see the rest of our family. We agreed to meet Uncle Paul and Aunt Leigh for lunch at Lenny's for some sub sandwiches, then hunt Easter eggs on the front lawn, and finally go to Spring Sing (all before 2 p.m). After all that, we decided to grab some drinks and snacks at Sonic before taking off to Nashville. The kids did a GREAT job, considering all the shuffling around and lack of naps. Emilia was so tired, she slept the entire 5.5 hours all the way home!

Easter 2010

I love Easter: the sign of spring and rebirth. Like all holidays this year (as Philip puts it), it was Emilia's first. I absolutely love, love, love the idea of dressing her up in wonderful cute Easter dresses with bonnets and baskets and colorful eggs. Next year we'll practice the traditions of Easter bunny and egg hunts. Didn't quite get the bonnet this year either, but I'm already scouting for next time.

We had a lovely day with Philip's family. It was our first time hosting, and I hope we will many more times.
