The Minter Minutes: Thanksgiving at the Minters

What an exciting time!! I absolutely LOVE Thanksgiving! Not just because it's my birthday, but because it's the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year. Thanksgiving is about family, friends, being together, appreciating the gifts and blessings we have...not about what we want or what we could get. Thanksgiving is truly about being thankful to God about all He has given us over the year.

This Thanksgiving was even more special because my entire family came for a visit: Paul, Leigh Anne, Tate, Ana, Rachel, Justin, Arabel, Aliza, Mom, and Dad! That's right, they ALL stayed at our house! Emilia was thrilled and couldn't believe a) that she could stay in Mom and Dad's room for a week or b) that she woke up to all her cousins in her house day after day. It was a great experience! I love that everyone could meet Henry, too. Tate was happy to have a boy cousin (finally), and Emilia delighted in showing off her baby brother to everyone.

The girls giggled and jumped around. Tate played "monster" or "dragon," chasing his female counterparts as they screamed with smiles on their faces. It's not everyday we get fun like this (or noise like this). We were blessed to have one warm day during the week where the children could play in the backyard and let off some steam. The parents were all for it!

After Thanksgiving Day, my siblings left to go home a few at a time, starting on Saturday afternoon. By Sunday night, the house was much quieter again - and seemed a little empty. Emilia and Henry recovered from the festivities well; things were back to normal. We're all looking forward to the next event where the Wheelers, Williamses, and Minters can flock together in one place.
