Baby Shower from my Collegues!

I work with wonderful people! They have blessed me in many ways and now I get to add one more: a baby shower! These ladies were so sweet to come to a house after a long day's work to celebrate Little Henry with me. We had good snacks, cute gifts, and fun laughs. Someone even made me a diaper cake, which was super cute and had the very needed diapers along with a beautifully knitted hat and booties. Not to mention, they really surprised me with a glider for the nursery! I never had one with Emilia, and am so anxious to use it with Henry! I've already enjoyed swaying back and forth with my feet up in order to relax from a hard day.

Family and Friends Diaper Shower

God blessed me with the dearest of friends! Saturday morning we gathered for a baby brunch with presents, games, and conversation. Tracey H. did a fantastic job putting it all together. The decorations of blue were so cute (and quite different than the usual pink I'm used to); I received the much needed diapers and wipes! One can never have enough of those when dealing with a baby who may or may not explode from both ends! I loved having my family to celebrate with us, too, and it was a great blessing to have my mom here, even for a short weekend.

Tracey organized a few fun games to play, and we all nearly fell on the floor laughing from the relay. Imagine: two grown women battling out who can diaper, dress, and swaddle a baby better! One team was the fastest, but I'm not sure the baby would've survived! ha! Pictures to come soon.

My dear friend, Tracey. She put on a great shower!!

Incredible diaper cake with lots of goodies inside!

Crieve Hall Church Baby Shower

The wonderful members at Crieve Hall in Nashville decided to throw us a shower. It happened to be a week before the due date, so it made for exciting and interesting conversations. Emilia really got a lot of cute, beautiful items. I can't wait to see her in them.

The cake was SO GOOD! A lady from church made it from scratch

- strawberries in the frosting and cake!

Family Baby Shower

The "weekend" started on Wednesday night when Rachel and Justin arrived; Thursday, Ashley (Rachel's friend), Mom and the grandparents came; and Friday, Elesha arrived with her girls. We got to see more family and friends Saturday. All were here to visit with each other and celebrate with us on Saturday. I knew a bit of sadness would occur when everyone went home, but they left a slew of great memories.

Linda K. did such a good job planning and preparing for many, many guests. What a great time we had! Fun baby games, great cupcakes and food, laughter, and gifts filled our time together. So many close family and friends came in from all over the country to celebrate with us: Indiana, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and different parts of Tennessee. It was wonderful to see everyone. Emilia is a loved child! We received a lot of great gifts and we can't wait to use them all. Hopefully these pictures can help share the fun we had. (The boys were absent because they enjoyed their own guy time.)

Mom was so happy to come and hang out for the weekend. She was a trooper to help out with everything. Thanks, Mom!

What baby shower is complete without a baby to cheer it on? Thanks, Brooklyn!

Philip's cousin Stephanie and her girls came from Cookeville. It was so good to see them.

Cousin Elesha and her girls came all the way from Georgia. We had tons of fun!

We're so glad cousin Amanda's family moved close to the area.

Beautiful ladies!

Grandma Carolyn made this quilt for Emilia. She said it caused blood, sweat, and tears. It will be cherished for many years, I'm sure!

My very dear friend, Kimberly. I'm so glad she came! Grandma Pam (in the background) and her sister Bethany also made beautiful additions to the guest list. I loved seeing everyone.

My beautiful sister came all the way from Arkansas/Texas.

Charlotte Baby Shower

This past weekend Philip and I journeyed once again to Charlotte, NC. This time it was for a very special event: our first baby shower!! Mom and Dad's church was very sweet to want to put together a time for us to celebrate little Emilia's upcoming arrival.

We (and when I say this I mean Emilia) received many lovely gifts, much of which were pink. Diapers, blankets, clothes, and bibs were the gifts of choice. I'm so excited to use them all (even the diapers, believe it or not)! Unfortunately, since this was a girlie/woman's deal, Philip didn't get to see the wonderful decorations, but he enjoyed the pictures and loading and unloading the gifts to and from the car - not to mention the wonderful cake and cookies we could bring home!

The view as we walked in the door. Everything was so beautiful!

Grandma Carolyn had this made for little Emilia. Isn't it sweet? It comes with booties and a hat. Love it!

Mom made this beautiful blanket!

These are the delicious homemade cookies! I think I've had a few too many...
