After several attempts at doing the potty-training thing, I think we finally got it!
Back in May, I thought my munchkin was ready to ditch the diapers, but after many bouts over whether we were actually going to sit on the potty during the course of three days, it definitely was NOT time. We tried again a few months later, but still no go. Then, last weekend we realized that if Emilia could take off her pants and wet diaper, she was telling us it was time. In fact (contrary to how she acted the previous two times), she was excited to use the potty! She welcomed it!
Of course, we've had our share of accidents on the floor, couch, and numerous other places, but - to date - we have had 6 successful trips to the potty in fewer than 7 days!! One must learn to count successes opposed to failures.
Our next challenge - traveling across several States to Texas…not looking forward to 11 or so stops in 11 hours in search for a decent restroom. *sigh* we must do what we must do.
carry a potty in the car. we have a little cheap plastic one from Ikea. We stop anywhere and all of the time for potty breaks. Put a plastic bag in it if she needs to go #2. I just fertilize the grass with #1 and clean it out with a wipe.
