Breakfast with Santa

I know! Thanksgiving's not even here, but I drag my kid to a "Breakfast with Santa" event, complete with all the holiday trimmings. I'm not sure I'll scar her for life by interrupting the flow of the holidays, but it did cause a little question when, as we're standing in line to get a picture with the big guy in red, she asked me where the spooky spiders were. Smiling, I say "oh, that was last week." Who knew Halloween and Christmas came within a week of each other?

That being said, we really had a big time getting into the holiday spirit with Christmas trees, songs, lights, activities, and Santa Claus. Even the weather was very cool and foggy as we walked up to the building. Emilia sees the first decoration and exclaims "Christmas!" whilst beaming and jumping up and down

At our congregation, we are blessed to have a wonderful man do Santa's bidding each year. He takes the role very seriously, and can't imagine himself doing anything else (I asked him in the middle of July when his long, white hair and beard masked his face). He works a special Santa job in a different State during the regular season, but still wants to enjoy the festivities with "his own kids" here. Thus, the pre-Thanksgiving Christmas celebration.

So excited to see Santa in person!

 Can you tell?

Waiting in line for pictures (we get a CD later).

Crafts!

I'm pretty sure we're going again next year during the first weekend in November. Emilia's face was priceless, and I wouldn't miss it for the world - even if the turkey and dressing haven't yet made their presence known.
